We are seeking an ECE to join our vibrant Junior Kindergarten program located at our Wentworth Campus (JK - Grade 7). This role will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team of educators providing a Reggio Inspired play- based approach to learning. Theideal candidate will be a collaborative and engaging educator with passion and expertise in the early years. This is a Temporary Contract position for the 2023-2024 school year, starting on August 23, 2024 and with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Building strong relationships with children, co-workers and parents.
  • Delivering a Reggio Emilia Inspired JK program.
  • Collaborate closely in planning for diverse learners, parent/ teacher meetings and  general classroom expectations.
  • Enhancing student learning by using the forest area and other outdoor areas and providing opportunities for students to follow their own interests.
  • Using documentation of Learning Moments and Stories to inform authentic assessment.
  • Demonstrate a passion for ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Ensure that all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to BC Licensing and Collingwood requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to Collingwood School, the children, their families, and staff
  • Some support for School Age Care

Qualifications:

Basic ECE

Additional Qualifications:

Required qualifications

  • ECE 5-year certificate.
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching children (age 4-5 years)
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of child development as well as an aptitude in the   Reggio Emilia approach to educating young children.
  • Have a working knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework
  • Be proficient in the use of technology
  • Basic First Aid
  • Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
