Job Summary:

The Childcare Consultant with the Child Care Resource and Referral Program (CCRR) will support childcare providers, families and the community in enhancing the availability and accessibility of inclusive childcare options.  The Consultant provides support to childcare providers through referrals, workshops, training, networking, consultation, facility visits, and access to the resource library.  The Consultant provides support to parents and guardians through childcare referrals, information on selecting a quality childcare environment that will best suit their needs, and assistance with applying for the Affordable Child Care Benefit. 

Your Role:

Archway’s Child Care Consultant with the Child Care Resource and Referral Program (CCRR) contributes by:

  • Providing information and referrals to parents seeking childcare services via interview and follow-up contact.
  • Providing ongoing support to both licensed and registered license-not-required childcare providers.
  • Participating in planning and implementing workshops for childcare providers.
  • Participating in community events, networking, and educational opportunities.
  • Having sound knowledge of provincial childcare regulations.
  • Maintaining files, statistics, and client tracking.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys facilitating workshops, conducting training sessions, networking, conducting facility visits, and working with people who provide care to children and families.

  • A full-time position at 35 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, with the occasional Saturdays and evenings, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Getting an Interview – you will be considered if you have:

  • A certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE) as a minimum.   
  • Preference will be given to those who also have Infant Toddler and Special Needs Certificates.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the field of early childhood education.
  • At least one year experience working in a team setting.

The Job Requires you to have:

  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s record.
  • Current First Aid Childcare certificate.
  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple childcare options.
  • Well-developed computer skills; able to use Microsoft O365, including Outlook, Teams, Excel.
  • Well-developed knowledge of the state and complexity of child care in Abbotsford and British Columbia.
  • Knowledge of community resources and organizations available for families within the Abbotsford area.
  • Well-developed written, verbal, and active listening skills; able to communicate effectively and respectfully with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and varying levels of English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work occasional Saturdays and evenings.
  • Ability to have direct, in-person contact with on-site staff and clients; adherence to health and safety protocols is required.
  • Ability to interact with people in challenging situations.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.

Qualifications:

Basic ECE

Additional Qualifications:
