Company description:

Parksville Kiddie Kollege is a licensed preschool and group childcare facility providing a high quality, hands on learning environment for children aged 2.5-5 years. We pride ourselves in having a smaller group size so that we can truly form lasting relationships and provide individualized care and programming. We love to play and learn both inside and outside and have a large space to do both.

We are looking for a reliable, motivated ECE to work afternoons (12:00-5:00, Monday-Friday) and full days as needed.  This position is ideal for someone who is looking for part time work with consistent hours.

Qualifications:

Basic ECE

Additional Qualifications:

Education required:

  • Successful candidates must have proof of or be willing to obtain:
  • Valid ECE Certificate (copies of any diploma/certificate required)
  • Clear criminal record check
  • 2 Character references
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate

Required Experience:

Experience & skills:

  • Develop and implement childā€care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and imaginative development of children
  • Lead and guide activities and provide opportunities for children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, sensory activities and physical movement
  • Provide guidance and sensitivity towards children with diverse needs, including toileting and challenging behaviours
  • Respect individual family needs, choices, and confidentiality while communicating with parents, guardians or other staff members
  • Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and use this knowledge to adapt programming and the environment for greater success
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers, parents and community supports
  • Maintain an environment that protects the health, security and wellbeing of children

Salary & Benefits:

Hourly wage starting at $29/per hour (inclusive of wage enhancement)
