Let's Talk About Touching: Call for Trainers

Are you a skilled facilitator? Early Childhood Educators of BC (ECEBC) is seeking confident and experienced facilitators from across the province to join the Let's Talk About Touching (LTAT) Train the Trainer Program, launching in early 2025.
What is LTAT?
Let’s Talk About Touching is a personal safety program for young children, delivered by trained educators in group early learning and child care settings as well as primary classrooms. Recently revised after extensive piloting, the 3rd Edition of LTAT is ready to launch. LTAT Educator Trainings are delivered across the province by Certified LTAT Trainers.
Why Become a Trainer
- Make a Difference: Equip educators with the tools to teach essential body safety and abuse resistance to young children.
- Professional Growth: Gain a deep understanding of the 3rd Edition LTAT Program, build facilitation skills, and explore topics like body safety, sexual health education, and adult learning.
- Support and Mentorship: Access personalized capacity-building opportunities, in-person shadowing, and professional development hours.
Who Should Apply?
We’re looking for experienced facilitators comfortable leading discussions on sensitive topics like child sexual abuse, body safety, and sexual development. Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience in adult education or delivering professional workshops.
- Early Childhood Educator or Primary Teacher certification (or equivalent experience).
- Strong facilitation skills to engage adult learners in a supportive and culturally affirming environment.
- Openness to continuous learning and professional development.
- Experience delivering the LTAT Children's Program is an asset, but not required.
Program Details
- Start Date: February 2025
- Commitment: Online training sessions with the potential for in-person shadowing and mentoring.
- Completion: Certified LTAT Trainers may be contracted to co-facilitate LTAT Educator Trainings in their home community or elsewhere in the province.
- Supports provided: Travel expenses, accommodation, and honorariums provided for in-person activities. Professional development certificates will be provided for all online sessions.
Please note: Completion of the LTAT Train the Trainer program does not guarantee future contracts. Contracts depend on regional demand and trainer readiness.
