Early Childhood Educator

Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association (MPCCA) operates two licensed child care centers providing care for children 0-12 years old. Our mission is to provide high quality and affordable child care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children. Our goal is to offer nurturing environments and learning experiences for children to ready them for life-long learning and to provide opportunities for children to develop physically, socially and cognitively according to their individual development and learning styles.

We believe that play is essential for children to develop critical thinking skills and creativity. In our centres children are given the opportunity to engage in developmentally appropriate learning activities and spend time exploring their world through play in both indoor and outdoor environments through an emergent based curriculum. We are seeking an energetic, creative and positive individual to work in our 3 to 5 Room - 3 Corners Child Care Centre. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high quality care and education for 3-5 years old children.

Qualifications:

• A valid Early Childhood Education Certificate issued by the BC ECE Registry
• A valid First Aid Certificate
• A Criminal Record Check clearance letter
• Immunization Schedule or waiver
• Ability to provide a minimum of 3 current/satisfactory references
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with 3 to 5 program in a Licensed Early Childhood Education Program
• Experience of Working children with neurodivergent
• Strong Knowledge of BC Early Learning Framework and Emergent Curriculum
• Experience with Pedagogical documentation
• Effective guiding and caring skills
• Strong work ethic Additional Assets
• Special Needs Certificate 
• Food Safe

Required Experience:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities
• Ensuring children’s safety and well-being
• Assisting children with daily care routines
• Observe children to identify interests, abilities, and needs and adpt to programmign accordingly
• Light housekeeping duties to ensure program facilities and equipment are safe and clean
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of children's progress, attendance, incidents and health infomaiton in compliance with the Child Care Licensing Regulation

Salary & Benefits:

Rate of Pay: $30.88 to $33.63 per hours based on experience (hourly wage includes ECE wage enhancement)

Extended Benefit after 3 months probations
