The Opportunity

Are you a mature Christian who is passionate about providing high-quality and culturally diverse Early Years programming? The Early Childhood Educator Assistant works closely with all Child Care Centre staff to plan, develop and lead children in activities to stimulate and develop cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth, and ensure their security and well-being. If you have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ, 2 or more years of related work experience, a BC ECEA Certificate, and a class 5 driver’s license this could be a great fit!

 

You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems.  There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.

What You’ll Need

Qualifications:

Additional Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Mature individual, committed to UGM’s Mission Statement, Core Values and Statement of Faith. A vibrant and growing relationship with Christ, the Creator.
  • Completion of Early Childhood Educator Assistant certification program.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates who are willing to obtain Basic Level Certificate & ECE Post Basic Certificates (Infant/Toddler Specialization & Special Needs Specialization).
  • Consideration may be given to an alternative combination of lived experience and education.
  • A current BC ECEA Certificate is required.
  • A current and valid Standard First Aid CPR C and Emergency Child Care CPR.
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience, ideally in a multi-ethnic and socially diverse community. Experience with Indigenous community members is an asset.
  • Knowledge of community care licensing requirements.
  • Knowledge of the British Columbia Early Learning Framework and the Early Years Service Framework.
